Roaring Kitty Returns: GameStop and AMC Stocks Surge Again

GameStop and AMC Shares Skyrocket – Roaring Kitty Live Stream Today

In May, memories of the 2021 meme stock rally were rekindled when Keith Gill, better known as Roaring Kitty, one of the key figures, reappeared after about three years of silence. This sparked a new round of meme stock frenzy. Since then, GameStop’s stock has mostly soared. After the US video game retailer’s stock surged by nearly 109 percent in May at the NYSE, June is already seeing an increase of over 100 percent. Similarly, AMC Entertainment’s stock, which rose about 48 percent in May at the NYSE, is up about 34 percent since the beginning of the month. The rally seems far from over.

On Thursday, the upward momentum continued: GameStop shares surged another 47.45 percent to $46.55 by the end of trading, after being temporarily halted twice; AMC shares gained 12.43 percent, ending at $5.79. The after-hours trading also saw significant gains: GameStop shares temporarily rose another 31.62 percent to $61.27, while AMC shares climbed 12.26 percent to $6.50.

The further upward movement is likely due to Roaring Kitty’s announcement that he will be holding a live stream on YouTube today – his first stream in about three years. According to MarketWatch, Keith Gill is expected to go live on Friday afternoon in the US (6:00 PM German time). Investors anticipate that Gill’s substantial GameStop holdings will be a major topic of discussion. The after-hours stock movements highlight the massive influence Gill has on the WallStreetBets community.

In 2020 and 2021, Roaring Kitty regularly posted videos and held live streams on YouTube, where he explained his investment hypothesis for GameStop and discussed the development of his own positions. Gill’s last live stream took place on April 16, 2021, and it was viewed over 1.1 million times.
